Our Mission

"The Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation honors Joseph spirit, by supporting high school and college students diagnosed with dyslexia who are planning to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) by: 1. Awarding scholarships to ease the financial burden of education and recognize achievement 2. Empowering our scholarship recipients to realize their potential through the Morelli Foundation mentoring program 3. Creating a sense of community in which our scholarship recipients and families can feel supported Through our programs, we convey to our scholarship recipients that we view dyslexia as a learning difference that can drive them to be stronger, more determined, dedicated and able to shine brighter, as they learn to believe in themselves the way we believe in them. "

Who We Are

The Joseph James Morelli Legacy Foundation supports young adults with learning differences by awarding scholarships toward obtaining a degree in a STEM field. The financial support that we provide may be used towards tuition, books, testing, tutoring, assistive technology, or any other resource that students require to obtain accommodations and navigate an often highly stressful and challenging learning environment. In addition to financial support, our scholarship awardees tell us that the scholarship offers recognition, provides confidence, and validates their struggles; emotionally, socially and academically. Since 2014 we have awarded over $320,000 in scholarships and mentorships to more than 100 high school and college students. We are only one of a few scholarships in the country that help learning challenged young adults. We value the opportunity the scholarship provides to recognize these students and are commend them on their determination and perseverance.
