La Maraña is a Puerto Rico–based nonprofit working with communities to create more just, resilient, and sustainable futures. Through participatory design, community-led projects, and collaboration, we help turn local ideas into action—from restoring public spaces and advancing green infrastructure to promoting civil participation and environmental justice. We base our work on: Landscape + Food Supports communities and municipalities with nature-based solutions. Promotes reforestation, food sovereignty and community co-design of green spaces. Co-Design + Management Accompanies leaders, organizations and communities in the co-creation, planning and management of projects for the sustainable development of their spaces. Strengthens local capacities trough participatory tools that integrate knowledge, experiences and collectively designed solutions. Research + Action Generates and shares applied knowledge to propose more fair and sustainable development models. Connects communities, municipalities and multisectorial actors trough projects that transform knowledge into action. Help us co-create a sustainable future for the territories we inhabit.
