Giving out lifesaving supplies and doing street outreach is an exceedingly small portion of what we do, although detrimental in making hard-to-reach, criminalized, and stigmatized populations accessible to us. One of our most crucial functions is serving as an access point for the many direct services we and our community partners provide. Naloxone administration certification is available onsite ensuring everyone receives the appropriate information and skills needed to combat the highly preventable deaths occurring daily in Arizona. For those who want to learn more about overdose prevention and HCV/HIV transmission, more in-depth trainings are offered virtually and in-person. One major driving factors in reaching at-risk populations is to make overdose in Arizona obsolete. The only way to accomplish this is by spreading awareness and promoting harm reduction strategies. Additionally, Hepatitis C and HIV transmission rates lower dramatically when people implement the habitual use of sterile tools, and proper resources of educational value are readily available. This is where we come in: this is what we pledge to do every day for our community.
