Foundation for Infrastructure Resilience (FIR)

Description (the "short, human" one — ~90 words): When the grid goes down for weeks instead of hours, water, fuel, communications, hospitals, and food don't wait for it to come back. FIR exists so that America is ready before that happens. We're a 501(c)(3) run by 140+ volunteer professionals from defense, emergency management, engineering, utilities, and public policy. We educate the public and officials, help states and communities build practical, self-funding resilience plans, support Defense mission assurance, and advocate for national recognition of the threat.
