WHITE RIVER PARTNERSHIP INC

The White River Partnership was formed in 1996 by a group of local natural resources professionals and residents interested in preserving the quality of life in the White River valley. This core group facilitated a series of public forums to get feedback about community concerns, which included cultural, economic, and environmental issues. The mission of the WRP was formed around the idea that work to improve the valley should balance all three issues - cultural, economic, and environmental - while engaging everyone. Since its inception the WRP has worked with 150 private and public landowners to implement on-the-ground projects that improve water quality, habitat, flood resilience, and recreational river access; engaged over 500 annual volunteers in restoration, monitoring, and stewardship activities; and reached over 300 teachers and students each year through hands-on, watershed-focused classroom and field work opportunities.
