ICA believes that communities thrive when every person has access to a Good Job - one that pays a living wage, provides benefits and a supportive environment, and offers opportunities for employees to advance in their careers. We create Good Jobs by working with entrepreneurs that are dedicated to becoming Good Employers, helping them to access investment capital, plan for sustainable growth, build strong leadership teams, and hire from populations that might otherwise struggle to access Good Jobs.

Amazima Ministries

Amazima Ministries

Amazima Ministries International was founded by Katie Davis in 2008. The organization, based out of Franklin, Tennessee, feeds, educates and encourages the orphaned, poor and vulnerable in the country of Uganda. The name we chose for this ministry represented what she longed to see take root in the lives of everyone who came in contact with our ministry. In Luganda, the local language, Amazima (Ah-mah-zeemah) means “truth.” Amazima Ministries desires to reveal the truth of God’s unconditional love through Jesus Christ to the people of Uganda. We show our love for God by obeying His command to care for the least of His people and make disciples of all nations. Every outreach program of Amazima Ministries, whether education sponsorship, feeding, vocational assistance or community outreach, is accompanied by Biblical teaching and spiritual encouragement. We know that nourishing the physical needs of these people is not the ultimate goal. We long to see them fed spiritually and restored into a right relationship with God.

OPPORTUNITY CENTER FOR THE HOMELESS

The Opportunity Center exists for all homeless without distinction of race, ethnic origin, gender, language spoken, or, religious beliefs, and regardless of mental, drug and alcohol problems. Through direct contact with the homeless, the Center supports them to move beyond their condition if they are capable; or protects them if they cannot improve their condition in society because of emotional or psychological disorders. To this end, the Opportunity Center operates a day resource center/emergency overflow night shelter where homeless people can gather and where some members of the El Paso Coalition for the Homeless provide on-site services. The Center also strives to create a system of care for the neediest among this population through the development of transitional and long-term supportive housing.
